American company HighRoads has announced that it is establishing a product development Centre of Excellence in Belfast to support its rapid growth, and the company plans to recruit at least 20 professionals over the next three years. This team will bring together experts in engineering, product management, and engineering operations to support the creation and expansion of the company’s innovative health plan product data management solution. This centre will include focus on leveraging Salesforce for best-in-class sales enablement functionality.

Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £99,900 to secure the project for Northern Ireland and help create the jobs.

HighRoads’ broad platform solution, P2 Advance, creates a single source of truth for all product and plan data enabling payers to effectively create, manage, and go to market faster with highly profitable, customer-driven plans. This new team will extend HighRoads’ capabilities to integrate seamlessly with customers’ existing infrastructure, notably Salesforce, to more effectively serve their customised needs. The platform has delivered results with industry-leading customers including CVS Health, UPMC Health Plan, and multiple Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.

Welcoming the investment Derek Andrews (pictured left), Invest NI’s Head of International Investment, said: “On the basis of available talent and our cost-effective business environment, HighRoads has chosen Northern Ireland as the location for this all-important team, which will support the development of new initiatives and products.

“The jobs created will pay well above the Northern Ireland private sector median and will contribute £1.18m in salaries annually to the economy. These jobs offer excellent opportunities to experienced and skilled software engineers with the ability to work in Java, JavaScript, AWS, and Salesforce.”

HighRoads is headquartered in Massachusetts and is poised for substantial growth on the back of its successful P2 Advance product.

Ajay Bhandari (pictured right), SVP of Engineering at HighRoads commented: “P2 Advance supports the entire continuum of healthcare plan creation and is an innovative solution that helps our clients produce customisable, flexible and scalable health plans that retain customers, drive new revenue streams and sustain profitable pricing.

“The market opportunity for our product is substantial and we need to expand our software capability and capacity to enable us to take advantage of that. The Belfast technology team will be critical to the development of our product offerings and we are very much looking forward to building and benefiting from the team.”

HighRoads is currently based at Scottish Provident Building in Belfast, with 12 staff already in place.
