As part of its Dell Centre for Entrepreneurs programme, the tech company has hosted its first networking event for start-up companies in Ireland with the aim of encouraging more members to join.

Held at Dell’s Cherrywood offices in Dublin, the event saw figures from more than 100 companies who have signed up to the Dell Centre for Entrepreneurs since it was launched last month.

Through the programme, Dell is aiming to meet the needs of established start-up businesses with a technology focus by giving them access to resources, expertise and solutions they may need to get to market more quickly.

The programme will provide access to funding, mentoring, Dell’s technical expertise and infrastructure to help Irish start-up businesses grow and scale quickly.

A €10m fund to help support the deployment of technology solutions is being made available to these Irish start-ups.

Speaking at the networking event, Dell Ireland’s general manager, Liam Halpin, said he expects to roll out future events for Irish start-ups in the programme.

“At Dell we’re going to be hosting events over the course of the year where people can meet with experts from areas of interest to a start-up business, as well as meeting peers who are facing many of the same challenges as they are. The Irish members of the Dell Centre for Entrepreneurs also have access to the Dell Solutions Centre based at our Limerick campus.”
