DUBLIN, May 28, 2015 — Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. The project is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.

“We are proud to launch the Marsh & McLennan Innovation Centre in Dublin as part of our efforts to develop the next generation of data-driven technologies and analytics across our Company,” said Dan Glaser, President & Chief Executive Officer of Marsh & McLennan. “With nearly 600 employees in Ireland, Marsh & McLennan has benefited over the last four and a half decades from the skilled and global workforce in Ireland and the country’s culture of advancing technology and innovation.”

The Innovation Centre is the first of its kind for Marsh & McLennan and reinforces the Company’s drive for continuous innovation and industry leadership. The Company has expanded the responsibilities of its Chief Technology Officer, David Fike, to include serving as President of the Innovation Centre.  Mr. Fike relocated to Dublin late last year. Marsh & McLennan’s Innovation Centre is expected to create up to 100 highly skilled jobs.

“Marsh & McLennan is an industry leader with a strong, established presence in the Irish economy, and this announcement builds on Ireland’s global reputation in research, development and innovation,” said An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD. “The Irish Government has made a clear commitment to supporting this sector of the economy by providing funding and support to fuel innovation across industry, research and education. For our part, the Government will continue to implement the Action Plan for Jobs to secure the economic recovery through strong job creation.”

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD said: “Data analytics is a sector which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and in recent years we have seen an impressive jobs performance in this area.  Marsh & McLennan is an innovative and dynamic company and a leader in its industry. Through the Action Plan for Jobs and with IDA Ireland, we will continue to support this trend to win new jobs for Ireland.”

“Marsh & McLennan has a history in Ireland dating back to 1971,” said Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland.  “Marsh & McLennan’s investment in an Innovation Centre in Dublin affirms Ireland’s standing as a leading location for professional services companies to invest, innovate and transform through our highly skilled and talented workforce.”
